BITSAA International Inc. is a not-for-profit organization registered in New Jersey, USA (Federal EIN# 22-3835037) on October 12, 2001.

BITSAA International was founded to engage in charitable and educational activities by raising funds for setting up endowments, creating scholarships, rewarding teaching and research and generally promoting the development of resources at Birla Institute of Technology and Science campuses.

 
Sutirtha Roy (’05) - Vice President, BITS.aid( )
After graduating from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) - Goa Campus (2005-2009, Information Systems), Sutirtha is partnered with PondyCan in Pondicherry. He will be assisting the creation of sustainable infrastructure solutions. As a student, Sutirtha was an active volunteer with NGOs enabling self-empowerment. Sutirtha also cherishes his 2008 summer internship at the Vikram Sarabhai Science Center making young people enthusiastic about science. Most recently, he has managed his international alumni association\'s social front, BITS.aid, partnering with NGOs on development issues concerning India. Sutirtha believes that true change must begin at the grassroots level and he wants to fully live this message. He is as much in awe by the economics of Jeffery Sachs as by the magical riffs of Pink Floyd.
 
Vinodh Nandakumar (’01) - Vice President, Communications( )
Vinodh aka Rexy works as a Product manager with an early stage startup in Bangalore and focuses on Product and market strategy in the online consumer internet space. Vinodh graduated out of BITS Pilani in 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he worked for an IT consulting firm in Bangalore as a Program Manager and then decided to stir things up in life and join a startup. At BITS, he was a part of the Department of Controlz. Vinodh has been involved with BITSAA previously in the BITS branding initiatives and BITS.Aid. He is passionate about giving back to the society and works with NGOs in the field of Microfinance and Primary Education. He is also an avid blogger and Social Media enthusiast.
 
Dolly Fernando (’99) - Director, Alumni Membership( )
Dolly Fernando is a Technology Lead with Infosys Technologies Ltd. She graduated from BITS, Pilani in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering. While at BITS, she was actively involved in the Department of Controlz. In her free time she enjoys travelling and reading.
 
HarshJegadeesan (’98) - Director, BITSAA CEL( )
Harsh currently works as a Senior Product Manager with SAP. Harsh holds a PhD in computer science and follows his passion for teaching as an adjunct faculty with BITS Pilani, teaching a graduate course in software engineering. Harsh was the founding president of CEL while in campus and was instrumental in creating "Conquest", now a global business plan competition. Harsh lives in Bangalore with his wife Gayatri, also a BITSian.He loves trekking and travelling and specially visiting UNESCO world heritage sites.
 
Nilesh Rathi (’04) - Director, BITSAA Scholarships( )
Nilesh is currently working as a software developer at Microsoft IDC, Hyderabad. He graduated from BITS, Pilani in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. When at BITS, he led Maharashtra Mandal in 2005-06, was part of BOSM06 chess team and was associated with Hindi Drama Club. He loves playing chess, cricket and volleyball. He also enjoy traveling, trekking and swimming.
 
Sairam Sankaran (’04) - Director, BITSAA Scholarships( )
Sairam is an Engineer at General Electric Co. based out of the John F. Welch Technology Centre, Bangalore where he specializes in the field of aeromechanics and probabilistics. He holds a B.E. (Hons.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from BITS-Pilani. He is an active member of GE Volunteers through which he helps teaching visually impaired students Maths and Science. He enjoys reading books and listening to music in his leisure time.
 
Atish Kathpal (’06) - Director, BITSEmbryo( )
Atish has been actively involved with all BITSAA and BITS Embryo activities at BITS-Pilani Goa campus. Selected as an associate member of the first official team of Project Embryo, in 2007, he has been ingeniously involved in establishing the project and shaping the way it works today, at Goa campus. Currently he is the Coordinator of Team Embryo and also a member of the BITSAA Executive Committee, Goa. Apart from handling on-campus BITSAA activities, Atish spends his time working on projects of his interest. In his free time he likes to listen to music and chat with friends. He really loves traveling and has been to France and Thailand apart from having traveled through India. Graduating in 2011, he feels that BITSAA and BITS administration, hand in hand, will make BITS-Pilani the best university in the field of education and research, world over!
 
Mahima Jain (’05) - Director, Communications( )
Mahima Jain (aka MJ) is currently doing her PS2 in Bangalore and will be graduating in 2010 with M. Sc (Hons) Mathematics and B.E. (Hons) Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Most of her time on campus was spent with the Department of Sponsorship and Marketing. From being a volunteer to a senior core member, she put her heart and soul into the department. Hailing from Delhi, she was amongst the founders of the Delhi Association (Capitol) in Pilani and also served as President for the Assoc. Her interests include reading, listening to music, talking non stop.
 
Vikrant Bhaskarwar (’01) - Director, Finance( )
Vikrant is currently working as a Derivatives Pricing Analyst with Financial Services company Markit Group and is based out of New York City. He graduated from BITS with Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering in Dec, 2004. He worked in India for 2.5 years in the field of Investment Research after which he moved to US. He has a Masters in Quantitative Finance from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta.While at BITS, Vikrant was the Secretary of Computer Science Association and a member of the Senate. In his spare time, Vikrant enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, running and has recently become an arts aficionado
 
Ashwin Gowda (’02) - Director, Fundraising( )
Ashwin currently works with a start-up consulting firm in Bangalore. Prior to joining it he worked as an intern in the Business Development division at Agilent Technologies and later worked for a year with Kinapse on business transformation consulting projects in the Life Sciences domain. He completed his Master of Management Studies and B.E.(Hons.) Chemical Engineering from BITS, Pilani in 2007. At BITS he engaged himself with English Press Club, Management and Philately associations. In addition he served as Vice President of Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, led the Sales and Marketing Support team and was the Marketing coordinator for Conquest 2006. At leisure he spends time with underprivileged kids as part of the Teach India initiative and is a volunteer for a few other organizations. His passions are traveling, food, cooking and movies.,
 
DeepakMalani (’03) - Director, Lets Promote BITS Pilani & Career Center( )
Deepak is a Software Engineer at Cisco Systems, Bangalore. He graduated from BITS, Pilani in 2007 with a B.E. (Hons.) Electronics and Instrumentation. He is the project manager for BITSAA initiative - "Lets Promote BITS-Pilani" . Deepak is very passionate about this initiative and wants to make BITS very popular among the students. At BITS, Deepak was involved in a host of activities. He was mess secretary, joint-coordinator of Instrumentation Forum, member of BITSAA Yearbook editorial team and Jhankar club. He also counseled students for BITS-Pilani admissions.
 
Aman Manglik (’05) - Director, Newsletter( )
Aman graduated from BITS, Pilani Campus in 2009 with an M.Sc(Tech.) Information Systems degree and is currently working with Oracle India as a Software Developer. Before the current role in BITSAA he was also involved with BITSAA as part of the Embryo Project and played a key role in the development of the Embryo's Technology and Video infrastructure. Back at campus he was the Editor of the Information Systems Magazine "Tech'Know" and was also a prominent member of Photography Club. He was also attached to the Software Development & Educational Technology Unit(SDETU) at BITS and one of his efforts there can be seen as the BITS Pilani Official Website. Apart from being a Technology geek at heart his hobbies include Photography, Graphic Designing and Web Designing
 
Meenakshi Chatterjee (’00) - Chief Editor, Sandpaper 2.0( )
Meenakshi is a skilled member of the Hardware Design Engineering group at 3PAR Inc, California. She has been a part of system design, bringup and debug for the past two and half years now. Prior to 3PAR, she had been working with Nvidia in the Platforms team. Electronics had always been her passion. Getting a degree in Physics and EEE from BITS, Pilani was the first step in following her passion. A Master's in UCLA followed next. While on campus, Meenakshi had been a prolific writer. The bug of short stories had bit her in her second year and since then it has been incurable. She had won prizes for her stories in BITS from Languages group and then at Los Angeles in Henry Krunitz Creative Writing competition. English Press Club, Poetry Club, Moruchhaya (Bengali Association), Physics Assoc, EEE Assoc were where Meenakshi remained a faithful member and a regular contributor. She had been contributing short stories to Sandpaper since 2005 and came on the editorial team in 2007. Currently she is leading the effort for the upcoming Winter issue.
 
Abhijeet Bhalerao (’03) - Manager, BITS2MSPHD( 2009-10 )
Abhijeet Bhalerao aka Bolero is currently pursing his Master's degree in EE from Purdue University. He passed out from BITS-Pilani with a bachelors degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. At BITS, he was a member of Dept. of Photography, Maharashtra Mandal and a representative of Instrumentation Forum. At present, he is the Moderator for the BITS2MSPHD group. He love music especially classic rock, follows EPL and is a big F1 fan (a Ferrari fanatic!!).
 
Akash Raman (’04) - Manager, BITS2MSPHD and Who's Who Lists( )
Akash is currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering Sciences at the Harvard University. He graduated from BITS-Pilani, Goa Campus in 2008 with a Bachelor's in Electronics and Instrumentation. Apart from BITS, he has research experiences at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Raman Research Institute (RRI) and Infineon Technologies, Singapore. While at BITS, he was the founder Co-President of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) where he led a team of 40 students to spread Technopreneurship on campus. His interests include Amateur Astronomy, reading and blogging. Akash is also passionate about teaching and aspires to be an academician. Currently, he is on the board of moderators for BITS2MSPhD and BITS360.com.
 
Abhinav Khushraj (’95) - Manager, BITSAA CEL( )
Abhinav is a strategy and business development manager at Nokia. He has worked at General Catalyst Partners conducting due diligence of Internet startups. Previously he has worked at Booz & Co. doing strategy consulting. He actively pursues business ideas and advises wireless and Internet startups. He is involved with BITSAA CEL initiatives and has been a BITS Embryo speaker. While doing his MBA at MIT Sloan School of Management, he led the MIT VC Conference and introduced the MIT Entrepreneurship Showcase drawing entrepreneurs from across the world. Previously, he worked at Citrix Systems leading product development for a new business line. He holds an MS in Computer Science and graduated from BITS, Pilani in 1999 with an MSc Tech in Information Systems.
 
Uday Kiran Medisetty (’03) - Manager, BITSAA CEL( 2008-10 )
Uday Kiran (aka Udki) is currently working in the Autonomic Systems and e-Business platforms group in Barcelona Supercomputing Center in Spain. He has previously developed innovative software solutions and applications during his tenure at IBM India Software Labs and INSEAD Business School in France. He is very passionate about entrepreneurship especially in technology, retail and social sector. He graduated from BITS Pilani with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. While at BITS, he was the Senior Vice President of Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, one of the top five entrepreneurship clubs in India and was instrumental in scaling up Conquest, a business plan competition from national to international scale. He is an avid traveler and an amateur guitarist.
 
Srikanth Sayiri (’04) - Manager, BITSAA India Trust( )
Srikanth is presently working as a Support Analyst for Mahindra Satyam in Hyderabad. He graduated from BITS-PILANI, GOA CAMPUS in 2008 with a B.E. (Hons) in Electronic and Instrumentation Engineering. At BITS, he had always participated in activities and took responsibilities at every opportunity. Initially, he started with Hostel Cultural representative and initiated Waves, the cultural festival of Goa Campus with the help of other representatives. Eventually, he became the President of Council for Students Affairs (CSA) which is Students' Union in the Goa Campus in 2006. During his tenure as the President, he organized Waves at a bigger level and took Quark, the Tech Fest to National level. He played a very important role in developing relation with Goan universities. He is one of the founders of Andhra Samithi in BITS PILANI GOA CAMPUS. He had represented BITSians in all his college life (2004-2008) and here he is , back again to serve the BITSian community
 
BalaVishwanath (’86) - Manager, BITSAA LinkedIn Group( )
Bala Vishwanath is President & COO at Physware, Inc. Mr. Vishwanath came to Physware after over 14 years of experience in high-technology EDA companies ranging from start-ups such as Epic Design Technology to public corporations such as Synopsys. He was a co-founder as well as President of Smarte Solutions, a company in the software licensing space with enterprise customers that included Intel, Microsoft and Sony. At Synopsys, he managed the worldwide technical sales team supporting Intel. He has an MS EE from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, BS EE from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani and engineering certificate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
 
Shivali Agarwal (’02) - Manager, BITSAA Scholarships( 2010-11 )
Shivali is currently working at Schlumberger Oilfield Sevices. She is based in Kuwait and works in the role of Senior Field Engineer. She graduated from BITS Pilani in 2007 with Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and Masters in Biological Sciences. While at BITS, she held various positions – Secretary BITSAA, Secretary Sangam, Mess Secretary of Meera Bhawan. She was also a senior core member of Department of Theatre, BITS swimming team and member of the editorial team of Yearbook 2002. Apart from the above she served in the executive committee of BITSAA and the mess monitoring committee. In Kuwait, she is a member of HSE for Youth Kuwait chapter and is also leading the local connect women chapter. Currently, Testing exploration and production wells in rig and rigless platforms keeps her on her toes most of the time
 
Pavan Srikanth (’03) - Manager, Campus Connect( )
Pavan is an Applications Engineer Senior at Cypress Semiconductor, India, where he leads the Memory and Imaging Division in a Global Applications Technical Support team and works on developing applications for customers from products ranging from SRAMs to Microcontrollers. He graduated from BITS Pilani in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. At BITS, he was part of the BITS Badminton team during '04 and '05 and core member of EEE Association. Currently, he is involved in organizing events and quizzes as part of the Cypress Recreation Committee and founder of the ToastMasters Club in Cypress. Pavan is passionate about Sports and Quizzing. Yashveer Singh (’04) - Manager, Campus Relations( 2008-09 )
Yashveer Singh works with Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy, a non-profit organisation focused on improving governance in India, through a combination of political advocacy, research, grass-roots mobilisation, and civic training. Born and brought up in rural Rajasthan, he graduated with MSc. (Hons) Economics from BITS, Pilani. Prior to Janaagraha, he led a rural entrepreneurship initiative to develop appropriate marketing strategies and income-generation projects for rural communities. In his earlier engagement with Infosys, he worked as a Software Engineer. His six months internship at National Stock Exchange of India (Mumbai), gave him a broad insight about Indian economy and financial markets. At BITS, he served student community in various capacities like Sports Secretary Marudhara association, Hostel representative and President Student’s Union Council. As President of Student’s Union he was involved in various initiatives like preparing VISION-2020 plan for the institute, Internationalization and bringing interdisciplinary working model for Apogee, inviting the then President of India, Dr. A. P. J Abdul kalam to campus, Systemizing the participation of BITSians in cultural and technical festivals of other institutes, guiding and supporting Goa Campus in club and department formations at initial stages, Strengthening Student Faculty discussion forums, reviving interbhawan cultural festival and starting the Nescafe Corner inside Meera Bhawan He enjoys reading and playing basketball and is enthusiastic about Innovation in Public policy and governance. Yashveer is passionate about development of India and contributes by promoting Social Entrepreneurship.
 
Arun Maharajan (’99) - Manager, Communications( 2008-09 )
I am supposed to give a short "bio" of myself...hmmm...where do I start? I am not too sure...hmmm...am debating between the possibility of making this one of my humorous pieces of text where I might say something like "It took me almost 20 years of living on this world until I could actually acknowledge it...BITS helped me do that...I wrote my first "Hello World!" program (which didn’t dump the crash or whatever) at BITS...and thus started a wonderfully memorable time!". Or I am thinking whether I should make one of those very official sounding bios like "After graduating from BITS with my Electronics and Instrumentation degree, I worked for a couple of years in Bangalore before I went to Germany to complete my master’s degree in Automotive Engineering. I am currently based in south Germany working as an all-rounder in the field of Automotive Control Systems and Mechatronics.
 
Kushal Agarwal (’05) - Manager, Communications( )
Kushal Agarwal, graduated from BITS, Pilani-Goa Campus in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics and is currently working for John Deere, India. He is also working with a not-for-profit organisation, looking after its marketing and sales. In campus, he played a key role in the inception of various clubs like Cypress Semiconductors Club,Department Of Sponsorship and Marketing and Digital Signal Processing Club. He also worked as the Event manager for the Gaming festival held during Quark. He is passionate about Enterpreunership, Investing and enjoys sketching,reading and listening to music.
 
Nivedita Ramesh (’03) - Manager, Communications( )
Nivedita is currently a Marketing Manager at Titan. She graduated from BITS, Pilani in 2007 with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, followed by MBA in Sales & Marketing from S P Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. At BITS, she was a part of the Department of Controlz, Ragamalika, Cactus Flower, as well as a short stint with the English Drama Club in her final semester. In her free time she likes to listen to music, read and blog.
 
Sowmya Jayaraman (’99) - Manager, Communications( )
Sowmya graduated from BITS, Pilani in 2003 with a Bachelor's in Computer Science. After working in the telecommunications field for about 5 years, she recently completed her MBA from Manchester Business School, UK. At BITS, Sowmya was coordinator of SPICMACAY chapter and also involved in Music club, Press Club, Kairali and the Computer Science association. An avid music lover and performer, she loves dabbling in dance & theatre and also enjoys travelling and cooking. She is inspired by social and peace initiatives via music & hopes to startup similar projects
 
Abhiram Davineni (’04) - Manager, Finance( )
I am Abhiram Davineni of the 2004 Batch. I graduated from BITS -Pilani in 2008 with a B.E (Hons) Electronics and Instrumentation. I am currently a CFA level 3 candidate. I am also doing a Diploma in Economics, an external study programme from London School of Economics, Univ of London. During my four years of stay at bits I was involved in various activities. . I worked as a senior Core member for the Creative activities club. I played an active role in the Students union politics and also contested for the post of President, Student’s union council in my third year. I was a member of Mess Monitoring Committee and Andhrasamithi. I am Passionate about entrepreneurship, Economics and like to follow Indian politics and business trends. Apart from that i am an avid cricket fan and a music lover.
 
Sandeep Gummadi (’04) - Manager, Fundraising( )
Sandeep is currently working as a Research Associate at Aranca Research Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Electrical & Electronics Engineering in 2008.While on campus he was a dedicated member of the Department of Art 'n' Dee. He was an active participant in a number of entrepreneurship related activities and had also worked as a volunteer for some start-ups. He had worked as a Professional Assistant for the course on Entrepreneurship offered at BITS-Pilani. He enjoys travelling, dancing and talking about good old BITSian days.
 
Sindhu Anand (’03) - Manager, Fundraising( 2008-11 )
Sindhu Anand graduated from BITS Pilani in 2008 with M.Sc (Hons) Biological Sciences and B.E. (Hons) Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She is currently at Arizona State Univeristy, USA doing her PhD in Bioengineering. Specializing in Neural Engineering, she is developing MEMS systems for neural implants. At BITS, she was part of Department of Controlz, the English Drama Club, SPIC MACAY, and was the Sandpaper 2.0 Pilani, team lead as well. Her most serious and probably the most challenging role was with the Constitution Review and Ammendment Committee (CRAC) in overhauling the administration of the messes. She was one of the co-founders of Vita Beans Neural Solutions Pvt. Ltd., one of the first undergraduate start-ups from BITS Pilani. Along with Amruth and Nakul from the Vita team she has won internationally renowned business plan contests such as Conquest and Eureka (IIT Mumbai). Her keen interest in entrepreneurship has made her an active student member of TiE, Arizona.
 
Srikanth Sridharan (’97) - Manager, Fundraising( )
Srikanth works for IBM as a Senior Consultant in their Strategy and Transformation practice covering consulting engagements in business and operations strategy. At BITS, he was actively involved in the activities of Creative Activities Club and Department of Paper Evaluation and Presentation. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a job at Infosys in 2001 where he worked for over four years. Subsequently, he went on to complete his MBA from National University of Singapore Business School where he served as the President of the NUS MBA Students Council. Having gained a lot from the Bits2Bschool initiative, he has been an active member supporting fellow BITSians interested in pursuing their Business Studies in the ASEAN region. Srikanth lives in Singapore with his wife Archana. In his spare time, you can find him jogging down East Coast Park or trying to dish a few tunes out of his digital keyboard
 
Abhisek Rathi (’05) - Manager, Human Resources( )
Abhisek Rathi is currently the CEO of RD Group of Matrimonial Websites. He graduated from BITS Pilani in 2008 with a B.E (Hons) in Chemical Engineering. Back in BITS, he was the Joint Secretary of Chemical Engineering Association. He was also a senior member of the Executive Committee of "Capitol” and President of Maheshwari Association in the campus. In BITSAA, he handles the induction of newly recruited leaders and portal management . He enjoys doing programming as a hobby as well as a profession and is fond of Hindi movies and songs
 
PratikLahiri (’06) - Manager, Human Resources( )
Pratik Lahiri is currently pursuing MSc Biological Sciences and BE Computer Science at the Goa Campus. He has been a member of BITSAA for 2 years and is now on the executive committee. He is actively involved in BITSAA activities and has helped shape the team in its formative years He was the treasurer for Symbionts the Biological Sciences Association for the academic year 2008-09. He has been a member and coordinator of the Symbionts newsletter too. His career interests are research in molecular biology, molecular computing. He likes to spend his time watching movies and reading fiction (a lot). He also likes traveling and travels extensively during vacations.
 
AnkurArvind (’06) - Manager, Lets Promote BITS Pilani( )
Ankur is currently a 3rd yearite and pursuing a dual in M.Sc.(Hons.) Chemistry & B.E.(Hons.) Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Goa Campus. Apart from being an active part of the Let’s Promote BITS Pilani initiative, he is currently leading the BITSAA & BITS Embryo Public Relations at Goa Campus, acting as an interface between the alumni and students. He is also the Coordinator of the online campus newsletter, eBITSkrieg. Music is his passion & he loves listening to songs. Apart from this he is also fond of watching movies and cricket, outings and interacting with people. His interests include web designing and coding. Ankur desires to see BITS Pilani as one of the leading universities and desires to work for the cause even after graduating in 2011.
 
Anviti Shastri (’99) - Manager, Technology( 2008-10 )
Anviti Shastri currently works as an Engineering Manager at MediKeeper Inc. in San Diego, California. As a student of the '99 batch of BITS, she was deeply involved in the Department of Controlz, and also worked in the production team of the English Drama Club. A nature lover, she loves plants and enjoys traveling, hiking, swimming, movies and gardening.
 
PrateekAgarwal (’06) - Manager, Technology( )
Prateek Agarwal (2006C6PS556) graduated from BITS-Pilani, Pilani campus in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in M.Sc.(Tech.) Information Systems and is currently working as a Software Developer at Oracle India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore in their Enterprise Manager team. Back in BITS, he was involved in a range of activities. He worked as a volunteer in National Service Scheme and was also involved as an Editor to bring out periodic newsletters. He also contributed in organizing APOGEE for two successive years as an Editor in the Hindi Press Club and a Joint-Secretary in Information Systems Association where he helped to organize various workshops and events. In his free time he could be found blogging or reading or indulging in off-beat photography. A big fan of Scott Adams and Dilbert script (to which he can relate many of his daily events at office), he also enjoys sketching funny cartoon strips. Arpitha is currently working as a software engineer at Microsoft India R&D Pvt. Ltd in Hyderabad. She is in the security team in Server technologies group. She pursued her Information Systems(C6) and passed out from BITS in 2006 with PS-II at Yahoo! Bangalore, and has been working with Microsoft since then. Back in BITS and currently in Microsoft, she has been a contributing member of various initiatives and activities. At BITS - she was the Executive Committee member for Andhra Samiti, worked with Informalz department, was a member of My India-Gyan Bodh activity, witnessed the inception of CEL by being one of the first members and carrying out initial activities to establish the group, was student co-ord for PS-I, student co-instructor for CP-II & EG. At Microsoft, she is the core committee member for 'Giving Campaign' - an annual CSR drive to raise funds for NGOs. She loves reading, scribbling down thoughts, music, nature, dance and has also given various onstage dance performances ( while at school, college and work)
 
Ankit Saraf (’06) - Team Leader, BITS.aid( )
Ankit Saraf is an alumnus of BITS, Pilani (Batch of 2006). Recently he has joined Teach For India (TFI), a nationwide movement to bridge the educational gap in the country, as a fellow for a period of 2 years. He is passionate about development through enterprise and entrepreneurship. Also, he has been involved with A Little World (ALW) as a summer intern for 2 months during which he closely studied the working of NREGS and SSP in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He is also a Lifetime fellow at Engineers for Social Impact (E4SI). Back at campus he jointly headed the working of OASIS 2008 and has been involved in programs like Computer Literacy Programme under NSS in villages around Pilani. He loves travelling and playing cricket
 
Divesh Kumar (’06) - Team Leader, BITS.aid( )
Divesh graduated from BITS Pilani, Goa Campus in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and is currently working with Teach For India as a 2010 fellow where he is placed in a low income school in Pune as a Full time teacher. His association with Abhigyaan, the literacy drive aimed at 'education for all' conceptualized and run by the students of Goa Campus has brought him closer to the social sector. Further, his involvement with Dream A Dream, a Bangalore based NGO helped him work towards empowering kids from vulnerable backgrounds through lifeskills. He is interested in everything under the sun that aims at bringing positive changes in the lives of people at BoP through active volunteerism, technological innovation and social consciousness driven enterprise. Back at BITS he has been an active member of Department of Publicity and Public Relations and Department of Sponsorship and Marketing. He has also served as a member of Kala-the fine arts club and as a Core committee member of Environment Protection and Awareness Club. Whenever time permits he indulges in using both pencil and charcoal for shading and cross hashing. Apart from this he also enjoys early morning walks, movies and reading both fiction and nonfiction books. Saravanan is working with SAP Labs India as a Software Developer in the Business Intelligence domain, developing Enterprise BI apps for iPhones and iPads. He graduated from BITS Pilani Goa Campus in 2008 with a B.E. (Hons) in Computer Science Engineering. He likes travelling, reading and running.
 
Harish Aditham (’06) - Team Leader, BITSAA CEL( )
Harish, infamously known as Bushu at BITS Goa, is an Instruite from the 2006 batch at Goa campus, and is currently in his psenti sem. Harish is passionate about entrepreneurship (declared a holder of one of the "Top 20 Entrepreneurial Ideas of India" at the Entrepeurship Summit '09 at IIT Bombay) and Sustainable Development (conferred the Global Urban Habitat Fellowship 2009 at the World Urban Habitat Summit, New Delhi). Harish is an avid quizzer and a literary buff. In campus, he has served as a Core Committee member of the Literary and Debating Club,the Quiz Club and is on the editorial team of the Campus Magazine. Harish is a regular on the national college fest circuit, regularly winning at various fests like Waves, Oasis, Quark, Shaastra and so on. Harish is also a budding writer, with his first book in the pipeline. In his spare time, Harish indulges in music, travelling and catching up with friends. He believes God has stop playing dice with universe and instead has become hooked onto Sudoku.

Mayank is currently pursuing Computer Science Engineering at the Pilani campus. He has a great academic record and is currently engrossed in exploring new facets in Computer Science. He works with the Department of Sponsorship and Marketing and is the Google Campus for the current academic year. He has been a part of the Rural Entrepreneurship Development division of Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL). He has keen interest in sketching and enjoys playing football and badminton in his free time.

Venkat is a Senior Associate at Netscribes, Pune. His work areas include market entry strategies, industry research and competitive intelligence studies. Prior to this he worked as an analyst at Infiniti Research, Bangalore and did internship with JP Morgan Chase, Mumbai. He completed his Master of Management Studies from BITS, Pilani in 2007. At BITS, he held various leadership roles including Coordinator for Dance Club (OASIS 06), MASCON for Sponsorship & Marketing (INTERFACE 2006) and Non-Veg Secretary for Shankar-Vyas mess (2004-05). Ayoosh Bansal (aka bansi) is a 2006 batch student of B.E. EEE from Pilani campus. With his unmatched energy levels and passion for everything he takes up,bansi truly represents the ingenious and multi-talented 2K6 batch of the Pilani campus.From being the Joint Coord of Instrumentation assoc to the Placement Coordinator in his psenti sem, he has managed it all and still maintained a 100% attendance in all the vellapan and fun sessions with friends.Add to this his academic achievements and love for sports, and here we have our perfect all-rounder. His remarkable contributions and commitment make him the heart and soul of DoT(Department of Theatre), of which he has been an active member throughout his Bitsian life and still continues to be a favourite among his juniors and batchmates alike.Also,he was an ExComm of Capitol and participated in grubs and assoc nites with amazing enthu.Soon he'll be working as a member of the technical staff at NetApp,India. Bansi's favourite timepass is coming up with the most degraded, senseless,and strictly non-funny PJs and pfunds. Also his special love for anime and cartoons(powerpuff girls being his favourite :P) is worth a mention here.He is also a voracious reader(mostly fiction) ,a sports enthusiast(no matter what his physique suggests :P) and loves playing computer games.As already said ,the perfect all-rounder.

Aishwarya Raghavan holds Master of Management Studies and M.Sc. (Finance) from BITS. She currently works in the Product Management Group at Saint Gobain. She also has the experience of having worked in a few start-ups. While at BITS, Art n Dee- Structure side was her identity. Besides that, she had also served the Management Association as Vice-President. She enjoys reading and occasionally writes. Fitness is her new-found obsession and she hopes to run a marathon someday. Well my name sounds confusing to many, but nevertheless they still call me Aqsa! I pursued my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and Masters in Mathematics from BITS, Pilani-Pilani Campus. I hail from Srinagar and did my schooling from Presentation Convent School. At BITS, I was a part of the Hindi Drama Club; acted and was part of the production team. I did my PS-2 at HAL, Bangalore. While in Bangalore I worked as a volunteer for BITSAA’s 100 % placement initiative. A voracious reader- my interests vary from Poetry to Literature, Fiction and Economics. A lover of nature- I enjoy capturing it too!! Traveling, listening to music and writing are my other interests. However my most cherished time is all the fun filled moments I spend with my friends and family.

I am a final year student at the pilani campus doing dual degree comprising of M.Sc(Hons) Physics and B.E(Hons) Mechanical Engineering. I am currently pursuing thesis and would pass out in june 2011. I have been an active volunteer throughout my life at BITS involving myself into social activities working in a student run NPO called Nirmaan. I have also held the post of Mess Representative of Meera Bhavan. I have volunteered as co-ordinator forDeepchand Fund raiser, a fund-raising initiative taken up by BITSAA for a mess employee of Meera Bhavan named Deep chand. Through the course of my work, I got very much acquianted with BITSAA and the way BITSAA fund raising works which is professional to the core, carried out by motivated alumni. I am quite happy and even more excited to be formally a part of the Fund Raising team and I look forward to contributing best of my abilities for the intiatives BITSAA takes up.,

Arpit shall be joining Credit Suisse's Prime Brokerage Division in July, 2010. He is interested and has worked across multiple domains during his undergraduate studies by means of short term engagements from fashion design at Peter England to Consulting roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers to Signal Processing Research in Spain. His on-campus initiatives include setting up a Placement Cell in Pilani for pitching fresh recruiters for campus placements. He is also socially proactive and has been invited to deliver talks at International Conferences on Public Policy and Survival and Growth at times of Global Recession. He loves to read and engage with people from different walks of life.
 
Divya Nawale (’03) - Team Leader, Fundraising( )
An avid travel and dance enthusiast, Divya is the first BITSian woman to have touched land on world’s 7th continent- Antarctica, something that BITSAA takes pride in having been a sponsor for. A passionate Climate Change activist, she believes in ideas for Alternative Energies and working on Sustainable solutions for Social Development and Change. She has been a part of leading media groups like The HINDU and has worked towards increasing environmental awareness through various non-profits in India (IYCN) and across the world (2041.com). An ever-enthusiastic Dance Club member at BITS, she tries to keep up her zeal for dancing by performing in theatrical plays and dances at fund raisers and charity events. She was the Sports Secretary for Meera Bhavan while at college and used to enjoy being a part of NSS. She spends her weekends teaching Computers to visually-challenged kids and tries to keep up with the blogging world. Currently a student of Masters in International Relations at London, she also plays the guitar and loves to go bungee-jumping whenever she can.

Ravi is currently working as an Associate in the Global Commodities Group at JPMorgan Chase in Singapore. He graduated from BITS, Pilani in 2005 with a BE in Chemical Engineering. On campus, Ravi was a core member of the Department of Backstage. After working for a year at Infosys Technologies, he went on to pursue his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad in 2006. At IIMA, Ravi was the Co-ordinator of the Students Exchange Council. He pursued an internship with JPMorgan in the summer of 2007 and decided to join them a year later (at the heart of the financial crisis) in the Singapore office, where he has been working till date. Apart from fixing bugs in her application, she is a member of WAVE: Women association of Verizon Employees and the Diversity Council at Verizon. She has been teaching the language - English to underprivileged kids as a MAD volunteer at an NPO, Bhumi. After graduating with a B.E.(Hons) Computer Science from BITS Pilani in 2010, Swapnil is currently pursuing a Masters in Computer Science (Parallel Computing) at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Swapnil joined the BITSAA Fundraising team in 2010. While at Pilani, his spectrum of activities ranged from serving as Joint Coordinator in Computer Science Association for APOGEE 2009 to playing a central role in organizing numerous campus activities of NSS. He also attended the annual conference of Association for India's Development (AID), paving way for a long term collaboration of NSS and Nirmaan with AID. In order to quench his thirst for new ideas, he interned at ISI Kolkata and attended Google Product Conclave 08. Apart from being a technology enthusiast, he is a movie and food buff. Arnav or fondly called as Arny is pursuing BE( Hons) Mechanical from Goa Campus. He is currently the Jt. Secretary of BITSAA Executive Committee (Goa Campus) and an integral part of the BITSAA and BITS Embryo Public Relations team. He is also coordinating BITSAA Intl’s LPBP initiative at his campus. He is very enthusiastic about potential business plans and loves discussing about them with his friends. He has also co-founded a startup TalkofCampus.com (currently in development stage) and is presently working with its marketing team. He is passionate about sports cars and would love to own a Merc SL 65 one day (soon ;) .
 
Neil Chandrashekar Jog (’08) - Team Leader, Lets Promote BITS Pilani( )
Neil is currently pursuing B.E. (Hons) Mechanical at the Hyderabad Campus. Right after his induction into the LPBP initiative he single-handedly conducted 10 sessions all over Mumbai which found a special mention in Sandpaper - the BITSAA magazine. He was also one of the first persons to pioneer this BITSAA initiative at the Hyderabad Campus. Apart from working for BITSAA, he is also the Dep. Secretary of the Mechanical Engineers’ Association (MEA), coordinating competitions, events and guest lectures all round the year. A strong believer in innovation, his passions include composing poetry and he is a regular literary contributor to the college magazine. Playing cricket and cycling are his hobbies, among other things.
 
Rohan Gujarati (’08) - Team Leader, Lets Promote BITS Pilani( )
Rohan Gujrati ('08) is currently pursuing his B.E (Hons) in Electronics and Instrumentation from BITS Pilani. He has worked with 'Let’s Promote BITS Pilani' for almost a year. With a lot of patience and effort he turned a one man army into a team of 6 dedicated LPBP members, who are now managing the Pilani campus and have made LPBP active as never before, in Pilani. He has a keen interest in football and cricket. He played as a mid-fielder for his team 'The Reincarnated' in the BITS Premier League, for two years. He was also a part of his hostel cricket team who were runners-up in the Intra-bhawan cricket tournament. He loves surfing the internet and hanging out with friends.

Rohit Ratnaparkhi is presently pursuing a B.E (Hons) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from BITS-Pilani, Dubai. Apart from being a part of major BITSAA initiatives like the BITS 360 and BITS Embryo, he is also the Lead for the LPBP Team for the UAE Section. In addition to this he is the Cultural Head for his Year at the Student Council. He is presently serving as the Treasurer of the IEEE Student Branch and as the Publicity Chair for the Society of Automotive Engineers. He has also organized various events at college level which include Trebuchet Building, Bridge Building, and Student Paper Contest etc. Having a keen interest in Photography, he has covered around 50 events for the college over the past two years. He is also one of the Moderators on the BITS 360 Forum which is aimed at helping freshers who tend to seek advice before joining BITS. Sana Zaman is currently pursuing her B.E(Hons) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from BITS-Pilani Dubai campus. In the past two years at the institution she has actively pursued many of her interests and represented the college at various competitions. Keen on public speaking, she is a member of the debate club and was also the winner of the Best Delegate Award at the BITS Model United Nations at Apogee-2009. An introvert by principle, she hates small talk and loathes long pointless conversations. She feels Meryl Streep is the actress of all time and when Clint Eastwood snuffs it, Hollywood dies. A cyberholic by nature, she believes internet is the greatest invention ever. A person who lives in the extremes. Either in ecstatic joy (which is in short of late) or as a disgrace to depression (which is a line from one of my fav movies). When on campus, she is involved in a couple ofactivities such as Controlz, Embryo, LPBP, Matrix and NSS.

Doing a dual in M.Sc.(Hons) Biological Sciences & B.E.(Hons.) Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Shreya has been very actively involved with the functioning of on-campus team of BITSAA. Apart from being a part of the Let’s Promote BITS Pilani team, she is currently the Joint Coordinator for BITSAA & BITS Embryo Public Relations at Goa Campus & is also very actively involved in the 100% placement initiative. She is also a Nucleus member of MATRIX-Goa Chapter which encourages reading & provides platform for a healthy discussion amongst the students & faculty. Rohit Ratnaparkhi is presently pursuing a B.E (Hons) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from BITS-Pilani, Dubai. Apart from being a part of major BITSAA initiatives like the BITS 360 and BITS Embryo, he is also the Lead for the LPBP Team for the UAE Section. In addition to this he is the Cultural Head for his Year at the Student Council. He is presently serving as the Treasurer of the IEEE Student Branch and as the Publicity Chair for the Society of Automotive Engineers. He has also organized various events at college level which include Trebuchet Building, Bridge Building, and Student Paper Contest etc. Having a keen interest in Photography, he has covered around 50 events for the college over the past two years. He is also one of the Moderators on the BITS 360 Forum which is aimed at helping freshers who tend to seek advice before joining BITS. He enjoys reading books, loves travelling and is passionate about adventurous activities like Paragliding etc.
 
Sana Zaman (’08) - Team Leader, Lets Promote BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus( )
Sana Zaman is currently pursuing her B.E(Hons) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from BITS-Pilani Dubai campus. In the past two years at the institution she has actively pursued many of her interests and represented the college at various competitions. Keen on public speaking, she is a member of the debate club and was also the winner of the Best Delegate Award at the BITS Model United Nations at Apogee-2009. She has always had an inclination toward writing and is a senior reporter of the college's in-house magazine,'@ BITS Dubai'. She also serves as the Publicity Chair of the Society of Automotive Engineers and is a member of IEEE, the Student Council and the Basketball Team. Observing art, poetry, writing and dramatics has always been her passion.
 
Chetan Bansal (’08) - Team Leader, Technology( )
Chetan is currently pursuing B.E. (hons.) Chemical Engineering and MSc. (hons.) Biological Science at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus. He has worked as a Application developer, Web developer, Intern in a wide variety of projects for various Open source Organizations and Start Ups. He has been selected for Google Summer of Code twice in 2009 and 2010, during which he worked with the BioInformatics Group based at UCSF and Univ of Maastricht. He started (and closed) his own Web host before joining college. In college, he has been a core member of various clubs and departments like Department of Publicity and Center for Software Development. Right now, he serves as the Chairman for Association for Computing Machinery, BITS Goa - Chapter
 
Manju Vijayakumar (’01) - Team Leader, Technology( )
Manju holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from BITS Pilani and will soon hold a Masters degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University. She worked for 2.5 years as a Software Engineer at United Online, Hyderabad in a team run by 3 bitsians (yes, mini BITS Hyderabad started long back for us). Then kept hopping in and out of companies like Goldman Sachs, NVIDIA and Akamai Technologies. At BITS, she tried hardcore to get an appealing menu into Meera Bhavan as the Mess Secretary. Last heard (from someone who mysteriously looks just like her ;-)), she was successful. She serves as the Co-President of Aggie Women in Computer Science, an ACM-W Chapter. She is also a volunteer with Association for India Development (AID) TAMU and New York Cares (she built homes, walked dogs, read to kids, painted walls and pulled out weeds at local parks all in the name of community service). She is a community blogger for Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology and an Open Source developer with Apache Software Foundation. She loves comedy and drama (she is addicted to reality television). She is often found climbing rocks, running around till she goes breathless/thirsty (whichever happens first), lounging at airports (loves traveling), poking on facebook (she is very sociable), reading and writing random stuff
 
Vikas Goel (’08) - Team Leader, Technology( )
Vikas Goel is currently pursuing his dual degree in MSc. (Hons.) Economics and B.E. (Hons.) in Computer Science from BITS Pilani, Goa Campus. Intrigued by programming and software development, he thoroughly enjoys coding in different languages. He was also the Event manager of the code obfuscation event ‘Geek n Latin’ in Quark 2011 (the technical festival of the campus). He is the coordinator of many departments and clubs like the Yearbook (Mélange 07), Movie Club and Economics Association. He has keen interest in photography and was also a core member of the Department of Photography (DOPY). Apart from technical aficionado, he enjoys playing football, table tennis, solving Rubik’s cube and travelling to new places. In his free time, he likes to sketch and design.

Soumya Sen currently is a doctoral student at University ofPennsylvania.He got his B.E. (Hons.) in Electronics & Instrumentationengineering from BITS Pilani in 2005. During his stay in BITS, he workedfor the English Press Club. He enjoys reading, writing, painting andsculpting in his spare time. Experimenting with various styles andmedium is a hobby that he has pursued for sometime now. He is also avolunteer for Association for India's Development, Philadelphiachapter.
 
Hema Manjunath (’07) - Editor, Newsletter( 2009-11 )
Hema is currently pursuing her MSc. Hons Bio Sciences in Pilani. She plans to do her Ph.D in the field of Developmental Biology after graduating from Pilani and wants to base her career around research and academia. She is a passionate writer and has lead the English Press Club, Cactus Flower and Sandpaper teams on campus. Her other interests include photography, theatre and playing tennis
 
Neha Nair (’06) - Editor, Newsletter( 2009-11 )
Neha Nair is currently pursuing her Term I at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM C) after having completed her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from BITS, Pilani – Dubai (BPD). Besides having been the Senior Editor for @bitsdubai, she has held the post of the General Secretary in the Student Council, has represented BPD on television [a very 'interesting' experience she says!] and considers herself very lucky to be the first recipient of the Mantra Award for Extraordinary Leadership Potential - Female. Simrandeep Singh (’09) - Web Expert , Newsletter( )
Simrandeep Singh is currently pursuing M.S.C (Tech.) in Information Systems and is in his 2nd year at BITS PILANI - Hyderabad Campus. He is an active member of Extek (exuberant technocrats) society and a core- committee member of the same. He has coordinated many on-campus talks and tech-events under the same post. He is also a member of the Controlz Department for the college festival Pearl and is currently working in the field of database management on the online assignment submission module project.,
 
Ninad Pundalik (’06) - Web Expert, Newsletter2009-11( )
Ninad Pundalik is currently pursuing his M.Sc. (Tech.) Finance with M.Sc. (Tech.) Engineering Technology at the Pilani campus. He was the geek-in-charge at the Astronomy and Photography Clubs while on campus. He also had a short stint with the Wall Street Club, where he made posters and built campaigns, other than playing with balance sheets. At his PS station, he tries to ensure that managers get these very sheets correctly through the myriad applications running at the company. His love for code landed him a spot with the Google Summer of Code (2010), where he helped improve phpMyAdmin. He loves listening to Indian Classical music, reading and hacking/writing code in spare time

I`m a 2nd yearite pursuing B.E (hons) Electrical And Electronics Engineering Degree from BITS - Goa. Apart from working for BITSAA, I was also a designer and developer in DEPP. I have also worked on few web based freelancer projects. I`m a coding enthusiast and I love learning new technology. I love exploring new places, hangout with friends. I rarely watch Movies and TV series. I desire to see BITS as a leading University in the coming years and I`ll continue to work even after graduating from the campus.

I am currently pursuing B.E.(Hons) in Electronics and Communication Engineering and I am in my 2nd year in BITS Pilani- Dubai Campus. I am in the organising team of BITS Embryo-Dubai and I have also been an active part of the student council. I am a part of the Event Management club and the Math club. Shivansh Srivastava (’09) - Information Officer, Newsletter( )
Shivansh Srivastava is currently pursuing B.E.(Hons.) in Electronics & Instrumentation and is in his 2nd year at BITS Pilani-Goa Campus. He is an active member of on-campus public relations team of BITSAA and currently holds the post of Joint Secretary of the On-Campus BITSAA relations team. He has coordinated many workshops, video conferences and on-campus talks. He is also a member of BITS Mozilla -Goa chapter and a member of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and is currently studying and researching in the field of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS).

I have been actively involved in cultural activities in my college ever since I joined it whether it has been the Teachers Day celebrations or the college fest PEARL. I am an active member of the college Dance Club and am currently a member of the Core Committee of the same. I have performed on numerous occasions inside the campus and outside too. I am also a member of the Sponsorship and Marketing department for the college fest PEARL. I am an avid reader and read all sorts of books. I also enjoy music of all genres . Shalini Dwivedi (’07) - Volunteer, BITSAA Scholarships( 2008-10 )
Shalini is currently pursuing Chemical Engineering at the Goa Campus. She has been an integral part of the BITSAA and BITS Embryo Public Relations team for over a year. She has been instrumental in contacting many alumni in numerous fields for various reasons with rewarding results. She has also been associated with Goa campus’ Cultural Festival, Waves and Technical Festival, Quark (as an event manager). She was also a member of the Controls committee the inter-hostel festival, Zephyr 07. She has been working for the social initiative ABHIGYAAN for the past two years and intends to continue. This initiative aims at educating children who are devoid of the educational facilities due to unfortunate circumstances. She is enthusiastic about reading (almost about anything), writing and sketching. She also loves travelling having already covered most of India.
 
Madhukar Reddy Banuri (’03) - Volunteer, Sandpaper 2.0( )
Madhukar Banuri is a senior Fellow at Teach For India. He works as a class teacher in a low-income municipal school in Pune, trying to decrease the inequity existing between his students and their rich peers, using the best known teaching practices and content from around the world. At TFI he is also a fellow-advisor for the fresh fellows. Prior to TFI, Madhukar was a Product Marketing Manager at Larsen & Toubro in Mumbai. At L&T he introduced a new product line and was responsible for its sales and profitability. A 2003 batch engineer of Electrical & Electronics, he was the Treasurer of EEE Association and the Co-ordinator of Dance Workshop. He was also on the Editorial team of BITSAA Yearbook 2003 and was involved with Networks Domain of CEL. Passionate to learn about youth and women empowerment, he is a frantic movie and food buff who loves traveling. Presently working on a school-development project, he believes that 'Teaching is Leadership'

Ritesh Nagpal graduated from BITS-Pilani in 2006. During his BITSian life, he held several student-positions like Student Editor BITScan Magazine, President Marudhara Association and Joint Co-ordinator Hindi Activities Society. He obtained MS degree from Purdue University in 2009. He is currently working with a Start-up in Bangalore. His hobbies include reading and writing
