This scholarship was instituted in honor of S S Seshadri (BITS 1992) who died in a tragic accident a few years ago. The first award was announced in the first semester of 2002-03. The scholarship sponsors full tuition fee for a III year student on merit-cum-need basis.

• The merit-cum-need based scholarship will be given to one student of BITS (Pilani campus).

• The scholarship will cover tuition fees for one year for the student.

• The student will be chosen by a Selection Committee consisting of faculty at BITS; a member of S S Seshadri's family may be invited to join this committee.

• The student will be required to demonstrate financial need, this information will be gathered and processed by the Selection Committee.

• Academic performance in the previous year will be the primary criteria for selection of the student, once the student has demonstrated financial need.
