What is BITS Spark?
BITS Spark will enable and support BITSian entrepreneurs to create innovative, high growth start-ups. BITS Spark's vision is to make BITS-Pilani among a top 3 institute for entrepreneurship in Asia.
BITS Spark brings focus on providing the following aspects to entrepreneurs:
The three pillars of this initiative are:
- Spark Connect aims to ramp up entrepreneurs and start-ups through on-campus and off-campus initiatives like CEL, entrepreneurship courses, internships, BITS2Startup, pre-seed funding, workshops and coffee meets.
- Spark Mentors is a mentoring network connecting BITSian entrepreneurs and start-ups to highly experienced mentors for coaching and advice.
- Spark Angels is an angel network comprising BITSian angels and select non-BITSians that is targeted at funding high potential seed stage BITSian start-ups based in India.

- March 3-4th 2012: 1st Spark Workshop
- The workshop is intended to be a formal platform to connect start-ups to their mentors.
- Jun 2012 : 2nd Spark Workshop
- Sep 2012: 3rd Spark Workshop
- Dec 2012: 4th Spark Workshop
Angel Funding
Application deadline for first batch of startups to receive angel funding: First week of April ’12 (exact date to be finalized). There will be a periodic call to startups to apply for angel funding in July (’12), October (’12) and January (’13).
