	BITSAA Rajasthan Current Team size   20 Area of operation   Rajasthan, India Contact Person   Prof. A.K.Sarkar Project Description * To collaborate with national and international Universities/agencies/centers/R&D organizations in the area of efficient use of water, land reclamation and rehabilitation. * To apply Science and Technology for judicious management of rainwater, ground water and surface water. * To develop affordable technologies to efficiently deliver and monitor water for irrigation use by employing sensor network and microcontrollers. * To develop Science and Technology for soil conservation and fertility improvement. * To use biotechnology : tissue culture, genetic engineering and biofertilization for increased food production, livestock and bio-diversity. * To develop technologies to harness non-conventional energy sources like solar energy for agriculture and human habitat. * To integrate new technologies with existing agricultural practices for economic upliftment, employment generation and alleviating social and gender inequalities in the region.
