Run for a cause

Marathon Running

"When the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Running as a sport silently works for a larger cause - a cause bigger than the individual athletes, a cause that works for humanity at large. Running, in comparison to other sports, has an air of invincibility about it. Marathons have raised large amounts of money over the years. Individual runners push themselves day after day and raise the performance bar while they do their bit to society by supporting various deserving projects. Charity running has raised about $560 million world over in 2003 alone.

It is this facet of running that a bunch of us are particularly excited about... Though an individual sport, running gives us a channel to touch millions of lives and make a difference.

The marathon runners will aid NGOs Project Plan 100 (Lend-A-Hand and Yuva) and Parikrama in fundraising.
