	BITS.aid ~ Run For A Cause BITS.aid ~ Run for a Cause endeavors to raise money for various community volunteering activities by lending support to the BITSian athletes. This program serves as the interface between the athletes running to raise money for a cause and the various supporters of a cause. The money raised will be utilised to fund the community initiatives. For the supporters, BITS.aid ~ Run for a Cause provides the platform to give back to the community. BITS.aid ensures that the money raised is utilised efficiently towards a chosen cause. For the athletes, this forum aids by guiding them to reach out and raise money for their chosen cause. ~ BITS.aid Activities currently supported Lipton International Marathon in Bangalore on September 17th 2006 Following the Chennai Marathon held on February 5th 2006, the much anticipated Lipton International Marathon (aka Bangalore Marathon 2006) is finally round the corner. Scheduled initially for May 14th, this event had been postponed since. It is now all set to "break ground" on September 17th. With a registered headcount of 50+ Bitsian runners, the event shows incredible promise. We at BITS.aid have run an extra mile and are working on garnering support for BITS.aid and its projects through the showcase that the run presents. A team is working on publicity posters, newsletters on training updates and projects supported, and an official T-shirt for the runners representing BITS.aid The money raised will be utilized to fund Plan 100, a joint mission by Lend a Hand and Yuva Foundation, to bring technology to rural schools Parikrama, an NGO that makes quality education possible for slum dwellers and workers below the poverty line How Can You Help us Run with us: the better represented we are, the stronger our voice.
