Project Description

* Aims to form self-help groups of local women hailing from lower-economic strata of the society in villages
* Local skill set is explored through surveys and through interactions with the villagers. Products which have a market and can yield profits are identified. After working out the economics and after giving sufficient training, self-help groups are encouraged to produce the products
* Three self-help groups have been formed thus far. Products produced by them include Tantia (articles made from waste paper), Papads and Teent achar
* This project has been adopted by MYINDIA, a voluntary organization setup by students at BITS Pilani with a vision of a Developed India and particular focus on education and rural development
