It was between 16 to 19th October, that BITS Pilani hogged the limelight once again with its largest Silver Jubilee meet ever held. With over 200 alumni from the Batch of 1985 arriving from various parts of the world, the Pilani campus became a bustling center of activities and extravaganzas.
The meet started with an elegant lunch at the V-Fast Mess which was followed by an afternoon siesta. Thereafter all the alumni gathered for an amazing intellectual session with the students at the Sky Lawns. Over 400 students basked in the wisdom of their not-so-gray-haired counterparts, who treated their super juniors at the Sky Restaurant. Nostalgia took over as the alumni dropped by their hostels. The interaction with their "room dots" and "room sons" brought back the memories of their own college days. An informative counselling session was hosted by the old residents of the no-boy zone, Meera Bhavan.
A basketball match was also organized between the current BITSian team and the alumni, which was won by the alumni (after all experience does matter) in which many players moonlighted like "Vochak" and "Smokeon", the captain of first BITSian girl's basketball team.
The next morning a 5 km marathon was organized by the members of the BITS Alumni Affairs division in which over 100 alumni participated. In the evening that followed there was a ceremony in which the batch felicitated their teachers. Thereafter, a Music Night was held in the main auditorium in which both the current and past members of the Music Club brought to life an evening of exquisite melody and harmony. The evening ended with an informal paratha and chicken dinner at the All Night Canteen, where the alumni, back in their college mood, had a few laughs about the good old days while giving crucial advice to the youngsters there.
