The Joy of Giving Week is a "festival of giving" that aims to bring together people from different walks of life through acts of kindness. This year, the week was celebrated in BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus, from the 19th to 25th of September facilitated by the Goa chapter of Nirmaan. It had several events, including the old age home and orphanage visits, Meal of Joy, book binding session and cloth collection drives for the needy, each of which celebrated the noble spirit of giving. It began with the “Evening of Joy” wherein an Aerodynamics demonstration, a Kala workshop, an engaging game of Frisbee and an MS Office session for the kids of two orphanages were organized. The “Meal of Joy” on 20th September where the mess workers, cleaning staff and security guards were served lunch in the mess was followed by visits to an orphanage in Verna and an old age home in Bogmalo on the 21st . A Streetplay was arranged on the 23rd by volunteers in Zari to spread awareness regarding issues like women equality and effects of alcohol consumption. The week concluded with the “Joyfest” in which performances were put up in the Auditorium by both the cultural clubs as well as the children from the orphanages.
