Tradition of Guru Dakshina - giving back to BITS
The BITS batch of 1970-75 is one of the many exemplary batches that have carried on the tradition of giving back to BITS. In their own words "we were determined to give back to the place where it all started for us - BITS. It is where we met each other, where we learned the skills of the trade and of life". And thus the BITS-75 Trust was formed in 2008.
The BITS-75 Trust started with a noble mission of paying back the debt (even partially) and expressing deep gratitude to their Gurus - professors who taught them at BITS during 1970-75. Guru- Dakshina, after all, is the highest form of gratitude.
Guru-Dakshina - over the years
The first Guru-Dakshina was given to Prof (Retd.) Dr. B. D. Although Prof. Deshpande is no more, his memories and impressions will be forever with BITS alumni who knew him.Click hereto read about the first Guru-Dakshina program.
