Announcing the BITSAA International Award for the Most Successful Team

Dear BITSian

Welcome back! Last week we announced the 2014 edition of BITSAA International Awards - our way of recognising and applauding the splendid work done by BITSAA International volunteers around the world. We described the various categories of Awards, and even shared with you a few clues to who the winners might be. This week we bring to you winners of the only category that recognises teamwork - Most Successful Team.

"the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient." - This is how Google defines teamwork, a skill essential in today's organizations, and one that is often done to death in business schools! Note that even such a generic definition specifically mentions "effective" and "efficient". These are factors that we too looked for when trying to decide the Most Successful Team(s) within BITSAA International for the year 2013-2014.

This award is given to the team(s) that has shown remarkable commitment to, and achievement of, their yearly planned goals, excellent execution going beyond their listed goals, and credible collaboration within as well as across teams. All BITSAA teams are eligible to be nominated in this category.

I am extremely happy to announce this year's winners of the Most Successful Team category. It is a double delight as we have two winners this year:

Marketing & Communications and Career Center

Why did these two bag this award? Lets hear it from those who thought they should.. :)
  • Marketing & Communications: "..Set Social Media records for BITSians' day 2013..Well executed BGM marketing campaign...Well executed NASDAQ PR campaign"
  • Career Center - "For the utter dedication and determination with which the team worked to roll out the BITSAA Career Center, a portal that holds great promise to BITSians around the world to support each other in their careers."
A team, of course doesn't exist without the people within. So who are the stars that made it happen?

Marketing & Communications:
  • Ankit Chaudhary
  • Bharati Makhijani
  • Harshil Singhal
  • Kalyan Krishnamani
  • Kaushik Balasubramanian
  • Lahari Uppuluri
  • Priyatham Dharmana
  • Satyavihar Kothamasu
  • Varun Gampa
Career Center:
  • Aishwarya Raghavan
  • Anvesh Gudivada
  • Suhas Kashyap
  • Susheel Tatineni
  • Vivekananda Murarishetty
Congratulations to both teams!! BITSAA International is fortunate to have such excellent teams as yours to help take this organization a step closer to meeting its vision of bringing together BITSians worldwide.
I wish Marketing & Communications and Career Center teams all the very best as continue their spirit of teamwork this year to get even more things done effectively and efficiently.
