Announcing the BITSAA International Volunteer Awards: Part 1
In the past two weeks we brought to you the BITSAA International Awards 2014 - our tiny way of appreciating the excellent work put forth by our volunteers. We outlined the different categories, and announced the winners of the Most Successful Team award. In the Marketing & Communications team we missed out two stars - Shwetha Kailash and Vinayak Agarwal. A delayed congratulations and humongous thank you to Shwetha and Vinayak for their part in creating the Most Successful Team....
This week we bring to you some more winners. As you all know we are an organization run purely by volunteers - by their sheer dedication and passion for their alma mater. To top it all, we are a virtual organization. The success and sustenance of such an organization depends to a large extent on the quality of leadership exhibited by each volunteer within the organization. These two qualities - volunteerism and leadership - are what we celebrate in this week's Awards, through the Exceptional Leadership and Outstanding Volunteerism categories.
The Exceptional Leadership award is given to the individual(s) who has proven to be an exceptional leader. S/he has proven integrity and interpersonal skills, while doing an excellent job setting goals for their team, and carrying the team along with him/her. This category is intended for Managers and above, but exceptions are made if there is sufficient justification.
The Outstanding Volunteerism awards is given to the individual(s) who put in efforts outside of their stated project tasks. The individual has excellent communication skills, and is result driven. This category is open to all Volunteers and Team leaders.
Without much adieu, I bring to you the recipients of Exceptional Leadership and Outstanding Volunteerismawards!
