BITSian receives National Teachers Award for 2007

A K Shrivastava, Principal, Birla
Public School, Doha, Quatar, has won the prestigious National
Teachers Award 2007, instituted by the Ministry of Human Resource
Development, India. He received the award from the President of
India, Pratibha Singh Patil at a high-profile function held in New
Delhi on September 5, 2008.
He has worked in prestigious schools
at New Delhi which include Jindal Public School and Cambridge School
and as Vice Principal in APJ School, Shaikh Sarai, New Delhi. Mr.
Shrivastava has also worked in Al Ghubra, Oman, as a Vice Principal
before joining Birla Public School (BPS) in Doha as Principal in
2004. From 1970 to 1972, Aditya Shrivastava was a student of BITS
Pilani and obtained his MSc in Physics.
After winning the award, in an
exclusive message to his alma mater BITS Pilani, he wrote " I in my ignorance may claim to have won the award,
but reality is that I owe it to my parents and teachers and my Alma
Mater. Whatever I am today it's because of all of them. How can I
forget my teachers from Pilani Prof. Ghule, Prof, Subramaniam, Prof
S.K.Sharmaji, Mr. & Mrs.Shrivastava and Dr.Maheshwari from EEE
Department, Prof. Jaseja, Prof. J.S.Verma and of course Shri.Shiv
Yogi Tiwariji. I still quote them in my classes. They shaped my
destiny."
