“Your world is only as big as your Heart and there is no doubt that it is not one who has much is rich but one who gives much.  Come on ‘Proud to be BITSians’ Make your Alma mater your Valentine and do the Thanksgiving for a lifelong bonding” - Dr.B.R Natarajan (Dean Nattu)

Do you know how your donations could help the BITS campuses?

There are multiple initiatives which have had a huge impact on BITS campuses and the local community. Your donation can help fund such initiatives. Here is a selective list of the initiatives to give a glimpse of the BITSAA impact.

Technological advancements

BITSCONNECT 2.0: BITSConnect 2.0 is a multi-million dollar project that brings the state-of-the-art telepresence and inter-connectivity to all four campuses of BITS Pilani.  BITSAA has raised and delivered 1 Million USD to BITS for BITSConnect 2.0.Description: Screen_Shot_2014_11_16_at_5_55_51_pm.png

With BITSConnect 2.0 “28 more faculty members will have more time to devote to research …” - Dr. B. N. Jain, Vice Chancellor of BITS.

One of the aims of BITSConnect 2.0 is “to bring you, the alumni, closer to the students and faculty of BITS …” - Dr. G. Raghurama, Director of BITS, Pilani campus.

Oyster Lab: Oyster Lab is a $50 million VLSI Lab initiative that aims to conduct semiconductor research and development, makings BITS Pilani at par with institutes in US and Europe.  OLAB is a distributed VLSI lab that will connect all BITS campuses (Pilani, Goa, Dubai and Hyderabad) with an industrial centre at Bangalore.   This is a great example of industry-institute cooperation.  Click here for more details.

Community Enrichment

ATMA NIRBHARA: The mission of Project Atma Nirbhara was to have a community resource centre for rural education and employability in Pilani serving the rural communities in and around Pilani.  BITS Alumni partnered with various NGO's to create the Pilani Resource Center, a sprawling 16,000 SFT infrastructure, located just outside the BITS Pilani campus.  Click here for more details.

BITS Dubai Director R. K. Mittal said while a dream had been fulfilled with the inauguration of the resource centre, a “Desert Valley” would come up shortly near Pilani on the lines of the Silicon Valley near Stanford in the U.S.

These are just examples.  With your contributions, we can help BITS reach greater heights.

Untitled_fb.pngNow you can share your donation activity on Facebook to inspire other alumni to contribute their bit. After completion of donation, lookout for the icon (Share on Facebook) to share! Do not forget to add #GiveBITSAA to your post and tag your BITSian friends to keep the chain going.  The friends that you tag can then donate and/or post a picture of themselves with BITS/BITSAA memorabilia (like wearing a BITS/BITSAA t-shirt, with a BITS/BITSAA mug, etc.)
