The successful journeys of BITS scaling high on charts continue with its new campuses, pioneered online entrance examinations and benchmarked industry-university collaborations. This is yet again proved by securing the most coveted ‘A’ grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC an establishment of University Grants Commission, UGC.
BITS questioned the ranking survey system followed by India Today in 2005 and opted out of it since then (Story). Outlook in its June 11 issue, 2007 featured BITS Pilani as the top private engineering college in India.
It was time when the university was asked to perform by NAAC, and BITS showed its potential by scoring a whooping 3.71 CGPA on a scale of 4!!! :)
The depth of excellence was measured with grades in the areas of Curricular Aspects, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation Research, Consultancy and Extension, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression, Governance and Leadership, Innovative practices.
