Anitha Ashokan is a 2004 batch BITSian who graduated in 2008 with B.E (Hons.) in Electronics and Instrumentation from the Goa Campus. She is based in Chennai and was working with Satyam Computers, Chennai till May '09 when she fell ill with a rare case of brain disease and has been unconscious since then. Anitha was later diagnosed with Balo, a rare variant of multiple Sclerosis and is undergoing treatment for the same. The news about Anitha’s illness was brought to the notice of BITSAA and BITSAA decided to take up the ‘BITSians for Anitha initiative’ to help her.
BITSAA is looking at helping Anitha’s family non-financially by reducing her overall medical expenses and financially by raising funds for her treatment. We are targeting at raising Rs 5 lakhs for Anitha and the contributions would be put to use in treating her.
