Prof Venkateswaran has built brand name of BITS. More importantly he built up people. He will be remembered for his innovative educational administration. What BITS follows today.. others follow it after 20 years!. The man behind his is unfortunately not with us. I have been benefited by the faculty development programme. He has guided many faculty members to the right track to take up teaching careers too. My heartfelt condolences to his family!

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Venkateswaran and the family. May his soul rest in peace. Sir, you have left behind fond memories for thousands of Bitsians like me. The characteristic humility and concern you displayed in your interactions with students was incomparable. We shall forever remember you for your sharp wit, superior intellect and visionary leadership. Generations of Bitsians will be indebted to you for your steady hand at the wheel as you steered our Institute to greater heights. Diro, you have strengthened and built upon a fine institution of higher learning in India and for that I am eternally grateful to you. I also thank you for the invaluable support and guidance you have provided me throughout my tenure at BITS, Pilani.

Our Diro will always remain special. The moment he came to stage to speak there would be pin-drop silence, such is the respect he commanded in the campus. His sense of humour and reaching out to students was what differentiated him and made him what he was. Salutations to the man, indeed a great loss to the education world and BITSian community.
