my term as Vice-Chancellor of BITS on the 31st July, 2010
and will continue to be associated with BITS as Advisor to the

completed M.Sc. (Tech.) and Ph.D. degrees in 1965 and 1971

It is my conviction that BITS has a very bright future under the dynamic

has already made significant contributions in the field of higher

this has been possible due to its educational processes, bright
dedicated faculty and staff members, passionate alumni and interest
and support of Birla family. Today BITS ranks as the top private
& technology institute in the country.

fortune to have worked with the Former Chancellor, the Late Dr. K.K.
Birla, who excellently guided the Institute for about 25 years. After

the Institute in 2008. Working with him during the last about two years
has been a very pleasing experience. My predecessors have contributed
in their own ways to the development of the Institute and laid a strong
foundation. During my tenure as Vice Chancellor the Institute has

upgraded and faculty and staff benefits have been revamped. The Vision
