Harvard Business School is one of the most prestigious graduate business schools in the world. And recently, HBS has given aspiring business leaders a whole new avenue to walk away a Harvard ‘Grad’ via the HBS 2+2 program. Students are chosen for this program during their last year of college and are required to work in a company for two years after graduating before entering the doors of HBS.
This innovative program is a huge opportunity as it allows HBS 2+2 students to build networks and derive benefits through their two years in a corporate environment. It ensures that they draw from their experiences to become exceptional management graduates.
The selection procedure is highly competitive and very intense. We’ve come to notice that BITSians seem to thrive in such situations. Case in point - Vidyashankar Vellal, of the graduating class of 2010 from BITS Pilani, Goa Campus. This Economics and Computer Science graduate sailed through the GRE and TOEFL exams, wrote four essays and braved a gruelling 30-minute interview on the HBS campus to make his dream come true. Of course, it entailed a lot more work than that. He thanks the ‘BITS2BSchool’ community for being a great support system through his entire journey.
Today he stands as one of the chosen few international students accepted to this program and we know that he will do his family, country and most of all, his alma mater very proud. On behalf of the entire BITSian community, we congratulate him and wish him the best.
