Two young alumni are giving back to BITS in a novel way within a few months of their graduation. V Veera Vikram (2006C6PS598P) and Jayant Ahalawat (2006A2PS311P) have devoted their first month's salaries to buy a rolling trophy for the winners of BOSM Volleyball. The two are passionate about the development of sports in BITS. They hit the Gym Grounds almost everyday of their four year stay at Pilani and were part of the BOSM Volleyball team.
They both are of the opinion that sports were very often neglected at BITS, but to be rated a top-tier school, development of sports and other physical extra-curricular activities is important. They strongly believe that sport builds character and personality, and helped them effectively tackle anger and other issues while playing as a team.
Says Vikram, "though this time our contribution was not a major one, we just wanted to do something to encourage and motivate students to get involved in sports. It gives us immense pleasure that we were able to contribute immediately after passing out and hope to keep doing it in a significant way in the coming years.” We hope that fire stays alive!

Vikky and Jayant - Passionate BITSian's like you make us say "Proud to be a BITSian". The act of giving is measured not merely in numbers but under the circumstances in which the "giving" occurred. You have chosen to donate to our alma mater right at the beginning of your professional life - a real homage. You have chosen to do do it for something close to your heart and in memory of Coach Kuldeep. In doing this small yet noble contribution you have shown what it takes and makes a true BITSian.
