AtmaNirbhara is a humble community resource project with a grand vision of providing universal education and employment opportunities to rural India. The project aims at building a community resource center at Pilani which would be a hub for extending support to the nearby rural communities of Jherli, Raila, Khedia, Harinagar etc.

As Planned, the community resource center provides a plethora of facilities including classrooms for rural education/ vocational training, facilities for Women Entrepreneurial Initiatives, a well stocked Library with over 3000 books including children's novels, play room for children, Audio/Video room, computer room with internet & Fax etc. to name a few. Such a center would be an extraordinary resource for personal and professional development of some of the most impoverished and quarantined parts of our country.

The project has been a collaborative effort by many partnering organizations of which BITSAA has been the primary catalyzing agent. It helped in providing corporate ties, securing funding and overseeing the smooth execution of the project. BITS also has been of immense help by providing land, expert guidance and more importantly by being the primary link to the rural communities. Nirmaan has been taking care of the day-to-day operations and the overall management of the program. READ (Rural Education and Development) has vowed to provide the computer facilities, micro-finance entrepreneurial endeavors and assist in library setup.

The project is being carried out in four main phases:

1) Discovery: Build client relationships, credibility and Identify Key enablers

2) Critical Mass: Build and acquire facilities, equipment and Manpower

3) Employability: Set up vocational training programs, women businesses and employment opportunities

4) Replication: Expand & set up community centers in other areas.

Currently the project is in its second phase. As the project marches ahead, ironing out its modus operandi, it learns useful lessons for successful implementation. With all this accrued experience and expertise, it is the goal of BITSAA and all its collaborating partners to expand the program to many other locations for far reaching impact.
