SGI Names Agendra Kumar as Country Manager of India

SGI, a global leader in large-scale clustered computing, high performance storage, HPC and data center enablement and services, now has a BITSian as its Country Manager of India. With experience spanning 25 years in sales of hardware and software solutions across Asia as well as EMEA, Agendra will drive SGI's India sales strategy, and will have primary responsibility for all sales and relationship activities for vertical markets, including: Government, research, internet, energy, and manufacturing. Agendra will report to Philip Chua, managing director and vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).
"India is a key growth region in APJ, and we are pleased to have an experienced industry person such as Agendra to lead this growth country," said Chua. "Our goal is to maximize the opportunity and potential in this emerging and exciting market."
Previous experiences of Mr. Agendra include Symantec, where he served as Director of Global Accounts for APJ from 2005 to 2010, Prior to which, he worked at Veritas from 2002 to 2005 and Digital Equipment from 1990 to 1994. He was previously with Silicon Graphics during 1994-2000.

Agendra has a Post Graduate degree in Management Studies and M.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics from BITS, Pilani in India(1977 Batch).
