Vinod Kumar to join as new MD & CEO of Tata Com

A director on board to the New Managing director and CEO!

Vinod Kumar, a director on board to take over as the new Managing Director and CEO of Tata Communications. Vinod Kumar has been serving the company from April 2004 and he also assumed responsibility as Managing Director of the company’s international operations. Later, he took over as the Chief Operating Officer, and currently manages the Global Data Business Unit as well as the Engineering and Operations functions. He was closely associated with the acquisitions of TGN and Teleglobe and was also at the forefront of Tata Communications shift away from traditional network services towards managed services and recently, cloud computing. Mr. Kumar replaces Mr.N Srinath who will continue to be a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the company Tata Communications and some of its subsidiary/associate companies such as Neotel.

Vinod Kumar is a graduate from BITS, Pilani and has over 20 years of experience in the global telecom industry. Mr. Kumar said, "Srinath has been a great leader and motivating force for Tata Communications; I look forward to working closely with him in his new role.
