Mr. Jaywant Singh Rao will play a new leadership role as Vice President, global business development and strategic alliances. In an effort to expand its access to new markets and growth, Savvis, Inc. rightly chose Mr. Rao for the challenging role. Mr. Rao will be dealing with the establishment and expansion of existing relationships between Savvis and its alliance partners, including independent software vendors (ISVs), application providers and system integrators, while overseeing the launch of new Savvis solutions to the market to drive growth and his leadership would allow Savvis to expand its investment in its global channel for new distribution models.
Mr. Rao is an alumnus of BITS Pilani and also earned a master’s in electrical engineering with an emphasis on computer networking from Columbia University in the city of New York. He most recently ran the ISV Alliances team at Salesforce.com, where he worked with the technology companies to build and deploy cloud-based applications. Prior to that, Rao was part of the management team at Embarcadero Technologies and also at Critical Path, which provided hosted messaging services to more than 30 million global customers. His career began at Oracle, where he spent 11 years in software development, sales and services. He got more than 20 years of experience in technology, operations, sales, services and alliances.
"I look forward to building on Savvis’ already solid strategic partnerships and alliances, allowing us to grow our existing business and enter new markets globally to complement our direct channels to market,” Rao said.
"Jaywant will be in position to play a vital role in the future success of Savvis,” said Bill Fathers, senior vice president of global sales and marketing. "His efforts will accelerate our company’s growth while providing valuable IT solutions for enterprises.”
