In the past two years, APOGEE has witnessed
an unprecedented purple patch, with luminaries like Jimmy Wales, the Wikipedia
founder, Meera Sanyal, the RBS India Chairperson and many others, gracing the
fest. There were many other attractions in the past couple of years,
significant among them being an exhibition of tanks from the Indian Army, an
RC-aircraft demonstration and a make-shift planetarium. Several projects were
recognised by the science community, some of which were picked up as feasible
solutions to impending real world problems.
APOGEE’s growth curve just gets steeper
with every passing year and this year is no different. This year, the
organising team has introduced several novel events -
Industrial Problem Statements -
notable industries seek solutions to persisting problems which they themselves
are yet to resolve.
Innovators Program - a platform to innovators from across the
nation to showcase their talents ,increase their exposure and provide
opportunities for future collaboration.
Barcamp Pilani - an
unconventional knowledge sharing event, where entrepreneurs ,tech enthusiasts
and people with similar interests and passion meet and discuss viapodcasts,
broadcasts, blogs and other forms of live media sharing.
Apart from the events, this
edition also has many renowned speakers coming over, including Chris Philips, Rachel
Armstrong, Dinesh Keskar, Tamir Naskci and many others.
The Students Union and CoStAA Body would
like to cordially invite all alumni who wish to be associated with this 29 year
old festival in any format – be it a participant at Barcamp, an observer at the
Student Innovations, or a partner in some capacity with the Fest, we welcome
you all and hope to have your continued support for BITS Pilani’s Technical
