BITSian VT Bharadwaj named MD, Sequoia India

VT Bharadwaj (99’) is now one among the big five of the new management team of Sequoia Capital, India. This new team was announced after the founding team resigned to form a firm devoted to public market investing in India and VT would be taking over as the Managing Director with Sequoia Capital.

The new team brings with it a rich experience developed through strong history of consulting, entrepreneurship, investment banking and technology development background, making it the right of mix of profile required for early stage and pure venture capital investment.

At Sequoia Capital India, VT Bharadwaj will lead investments in cleantech among other sectors. He is a former McKinsey & Co executive where he advised senior management in energy, consumer, retail and manufacturing companies on key strategic and operational issues. VT is at present involved with firms such as Celon Labs, Cotton County, Dr Lal Pathlabs, Genesis Colors, Ind-Barath, Tribi and Vasan Health Care. VT is an IIM Ahmedabad grad where he was awarded the Presidents Gold Medal and he holds Bachelor of engineering from BITS Pilani (1995-1999 Batch).
