Jai Ho Jaiveer Srivastava!

Jaiveer Srivastava, CMD, Hindustan Prefab Limited (HPL) has been awarded "Bottom of the pyramid Award" at the Global HR Excellence Awards 2011 ceremony recently held at Mumbai. This award was conferred on Srivastava by Bhaskar Chatterjee, Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Public Enterprises, during World HRD Congress 2011. Jaiveer is a Civil Engineering graduate (77’) from BITS Pilani.

Under the exemplary leadership of Jaiveer Srivastava, HPL has taken up challenging projects and completed them in stipulated time irrespective of the extreme conditions and hardships, hurdles and other organizational pressures. Their recent project is an example of the remarkable work done in a short span of 85 days by constructing 440 prefab houses for the affected people of Leh-Ladakh (J&K) in 26 locations after the cloud burst of August 2010. His passion and enthusiasm, clarity of vision, strong determination and personal charm as the CMD left the staff at HPL a changed lot. Impervious to the external conditions, he always continued with his mantra of ‘If it has to be done, it will be done. There is no going back, only going forward!’

“We are one company; he has made us see that. We are proud to be representatives of such an organization, energized by our Chief. HPL will regain all its past glory and we shall make sure we are a part of that resurrection”- one of the directors of HPL.

Hindustan Prefab Limited (HPL) was incorporated in 1953. It was earlier founded as Hindustan Housing Factory Ltd., which was set up at the behest of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India for solving the housing problem created due to influx of refugees from West Pakistan. As years rolled by, the company came to be known as HPL, the change in name being necessitated by diversification of its operations. HPL thus became a fully integrated company with modern prefabrication facilities and a railway siding of its own in the heart of Delhi to undertake faster and challenging jobs in the country.
