Award at CSI National Convention

BITSAA is proud and glad to congratulate Dr. Nilay Yajnik once again! This time for The Computer Society of India award. Dr. Nilay is no stranger to our BITSAA newsletter; He was recently awarded the Higher Education Forum award for his ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Teaching Profession’. Dr. Yajnik has been involved with the Computer Society of India since many years working with the student community.

The Computer Society of India honored him at the CSI National Convention, held at TAJ LANDS END HOTEL, Mumabi in November 2010. He received the award from Mr.Hemant Sonawala, Ex-President CSI and Mr.S.Mahalingam, Executive Director TCS.

Dr. Yajnik is an alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani(MSc) and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) , Mumbai(MMS & PhD). He also worked with companies such as Wipro Infotech and Digital Equipment (HP) in areas spanning Business Development, Learning Services and Program Management. Currently he is serving as a Professor of Information Systems at NMIMS University. He has several publications to his credit and is also a Corporate Trainer and serves on the Executive Boards of Information Technology and Management forums of India.

Dr. Yajnik quoted the role of India as a global leader in IT. “India today is considered to be a global leader in IT, but I firmly believe that India has a much larger role to play in the global IT space and it is the younger generation who will help India move up the IT ladder even further.”
