Conquest 2011, the flagship event of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, BITS Pilani has seen an impressive start. With widespread international participation and a huge number of quality business ideas from colleges and institutions across the world, Conquest continues to be one of the biggest Business Plan competitions in the sub-continent.
This edition of Conquest, being supported by resources from National Entrepreneurship Network and Department of Science and Technology, (DST) Govt of India, promises a big line-up of events which aim at providing an unparalleled, real world entrepreneurial experience to its participants and attendees.
The OOB Conference: The highlight of the two-day conclave, this conference promises an amazing speaker line-up of the likes of Naveen Selvadurai (Co-founder, Foursquare), Pranav Mistry (Sixth Sense Technology Evangelist), Karan Thapar (Hard Talk India fame) and Rajiv Rao (creator of Zoo Zoo ads). The Startup Showcase: An opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs from across the world to showcase their start-ups during Conquest 2011 and benefit from the targeted publicity and networking opportunities with entrepreneurs, investors and corporate big-wigs.Conquest Lock Up: A scheduled networking opportunity for the finalists of Conquest with potential investors, speakers and successful entrepreneurs.
Recently, the conclusion of the first round of judging has resulted in a selection of about 35 business ideas which would progress to the next stage of the event. The entries were judged by eminent entrepreneurs and corporate from around the globe. Over the coming two months, the shortlisted teams would be required to work on creating a prototype or building upon an existing one. They would receive guidance and support from our pool of mentors for the same. An effective mentoring process, we hope, would go a long way intransforming the shortlisted business ideas into feasible prototypes.
Teams would be eligible for both online and face to face mentoring. The latter, would be facilitated by the Conquest team by scheduling such sessions across many locations in India in the second week of July. We wish to ensure that each team obtains guidance from more than one mentor on specific sectors of their business idea. Additionally, the team's preferences in this matter would be accommodated to a major extent.
In this context, it would great if you are interested in coming on board as mentor or a sponsor and help realize the aspirations of some of the best entrepreneurial talent in the country and in the world as well.
