BITS, Pilani alum Sundar Kadayam ('81-'85) has founded Searchteam.com, a collaborative search engine where you cansearch with friends, colleagues and others you trust, through Zakta.com, his startup. The site debuted for public use on July 12.
How is Searchteam.com different from the popular search engines? According to the website, the conventional search engines are very good at returning instant results for ad-hoc searches. But they are not very good at supporting the process of searching for deeper information or researching a topic because they don't have the tools to do so. At its core, SearchTeam enables you to research the Web for information more efficiently, and for the first time, you can actually do your searches together with the people you trust. In this way, SearchTeam will improve search productivity and effectiveness.
Searchteam boasts excellent applications like students performing searches together in a classroom, teams researching together at companies, and families planning and searching together to involve everyone and keep everyone updated in the process.
Sundar Kadayam has worked on a number of search engines as well as social media applications, bolstered by 23 years of software industry experience. Visit his profile at http://zakta.com/zakta/profile_1_2_Sundar_Kadayam.
